Moin. He Said What He Came to Say. He Is Standing on the Sign to Make Sure You Heard It.

On a dark navy signpost that reads MOIN — the famously minimal North German and Scandinavian greeting that means hello, good morning, good afternoon, good evening, and also simply: I acknowledge you, and that is enough — a seagull stands in full regalia. He wears a navy-and-white Breton stripe shirt. He wears a red wool beanie. He has a small heart badge on his chest that suggests, beneath the laconic exterior, genuine warmth. His expression is the expression of a seagull who has greeted people from this exact post for a very long time and finds the arrangement entirely satisfactory. The background is pale blue stripes, like a clear harbour morning. The whole thing is drawn with loose, affectionate ink linework and flat coastal color — the visual language of a seaside town that knows exactly what it is and is pleased about it.
