Nine Cats. One Portrait. Nobody Was in Charge of Seating.

They have assembled. A tall tuxedo cat presides from the center — long-necked, wide-eyed, clearly aware of his own importance. Around him: a round green cat with a blue tail, a fluffy white cat who is simply vibing, an orange tabby with strong opinions, a small grey one who came anyway, a tiny black cat in the corner who got there first and claimed the spot, a white cat who wishes things were different, and several others in various states of participation. The background is warm, aged linen. The eyes are enormous. Nobody coordinated this. It simply happened, and the result is perfect. Painted in a warm, whimsical folk-illustration style with earthy tones and genuine affection for the subject matter, this canvas is the cat lover’s equivalent of a great family portrait — slightly chaotic, completely charming, and impossible not to love.

The Details

The tall one called the meeting. The round one showed up early. The small black one was already there. This is how all the best committees work.
