He Has Seen Every Light Come On in This Town. He Has Never Explained Why He Watches.

From a stone rooftop at the edge of an ancient village, a black cat sits with his back to you, tail curled, utterly still — watching the amber lights of the town below flicker on one by one as evening falls. Autumn branches frame the scene above. Leaves drift. Birds cross the pale sky. The church spire rises in the distance. Everything is warm, everything is golden, and the cat has chosen the best possible seat for the best possible view. Painted in a rich, atmospheric impressionist style with lush textured brushwork and a palette of deep burnt sienna, amber, and soft ochre, this canvas carries all the feeling of an autumn evening in an old European town — seen, as all the best things are, through a cat’s eyes.
